In ancient times, those who followed their spiritual calling, went through many physical, and often life-threatening, trials and tribulations in order to gain and be granted access to true mystery school teachings.
FACING CHALLENGES, TESTS AND TRIALS
They had to climb high mountains, cross raging rivers and face numerous physically challenging situations. Those who followed their spiritual calling eventually, often after very many years, were able to find their way to the doorway into a mystery school, a temple or enter into the presence of a spiritual teacher.
At this point a spiritual aspirant would undergo multiple tests set out by a spiritual teacher, which were designed to challenge and test the student’s consciousness and ascertain their commitment to the spiritual path.
They were always confronted very early on in their journey with an initial deliberately introduced situation or a variety of situations that created or applied pressure in their consciousness at all levels of their psyche.
This initial challenge was designed to move an aspirant out of their comfort zone in order to quickly establish whether they had the required necessary inner fortitude to continue on, and press on to the unknown, to undertake the journey into the deeper mysteries.
TRANSFORMING YOURSELF FROM HOMO SAPIENS, THE NATURAL HUMAN INTO HOMO DEUS, THE GOD MAN OR WOMAN
If the aspirant was able to pass through the tests, they would embark on a very long and arduous journey of self-discipline and soul development under the guidance of a spiritual teacher.
They would undertake a long series of rites of passage designed to facilitate the development of soul strength and enable the soul to access spiritual power and acquire greater soul capacity.
These rites of passage were also designed to gradually eliminate the dross from their consciousness and to gradually turn homo sapiens, who is the natural human into homo spiritualis, the spiritual human and ultimately into the perfected human, who is homo deus. This is the god man or god woman.

Entering into a mystery school and undertaking the teachings and disciplines has always been for the few and not the many.
It was expected that there would be a considerable number of individuals who would not be able to move through and get past the initial challenge or challenges.
